The 'Cambridge Home Learning' maths resource has been developed to support home learning for pupils aged between 6 and 11. Each week a new piece of homework is displayed in each of the three age bands (6 to 8; 7 to 9 and 9 to 11). Clicking on the links open the worksheets which can either be printed straight away or saved for future use. Also displayed are the answer sheets to the previous week's homework. These can be printed or downloaded. In addition, there is a homework history area which allows teachers and pupils to access all the previous weeks' question and answer worksheets.
Some of the homework projects have specially created interactive activities attached to them to help bring the learning alive. These can act as stimuli for developing independent learning as well as providing an element of fun. Whenever one of these activities is present, the 'go' button becomes active. Clicking on this will launch the activity.
This invaluable
resource was originated from the book, 'Home Maths Teacher's Book' by Anita Straker¹ in conjunction with Cambridge University Press. The material was developed for the Internet by Netmedia Education and the Birmingham Grid for Learning.
